This Sparta. Without speculation and slander

What we know about Sparta? The ancient state, somewhere in the southern tip of the Balkan. Another - the film "300", or rather two films. Who are the Spartans? Why they were treated with respect and fear? Not only because it was a wonderful warriors and military training of young inventors, but also for the public education system, special aesthetics and lifestyle.
A halo of myths and legends formed around Sparta in antiquity period. In addition, some Greeks denounced and ridiculed Sparta. Others - surprised usages and customs of the Spartans, admired military strength and fortitude. Plato and Aristotle saw in Sparta sample stability worthy of emulation.
The history of Sparta is known to us only in fragments. Modern historians as ancient as are interpretations and fabrications. To a large extent the sources of bias and contain a variety of fiction and speculation.

Spartans taught us to care more about the spirit of the nation, than on luxury goods, which through the centuries fall into a museum. But Sparta teaches us the necessity of leadership in relation to the neighboring peoples, if we do not want to archaic eventually dragged our people into oblivion.
