Pillars of Eternity is an isometric party role-playing game of the "old school". The protagonist travels the world of the game, performing tasks for various groups, relations with each of which determines the reputation system.

Heroes can accompany up to five satellite characters, they not only provide assistance in combat, but also reveal some important details of the plot.

The plot of the game unfolds in the original fantasy universe, invented in the Obsidian. The protagonist of the game becomes a witness of some incredible supernatural event, with the heavy consequences of which he will encounter throughout the game.
